No, we’re not going to be reviewing thatched beach umbrellas and mud huts today, as you might think from this photo – this post is not even about gazebos per se, it is more about living.
If you are familiar with our site (if not, have a look around), you’ll see that we try to bring you ideas on how to increase your living space, increase functionality and efficiency, and at the same time turn your yard into an inviting area that everyone would gladly visit.
Well, you’ve seen lots of beautiful gazebo structures (pergolas, pavilions, pool houses, cabanas, sunrooms, gazebos of all types, etc), fun additions (swings, , Tiki bars), bridges, arbors and trellises, and so forth (oh, BTW there’s lot more to come); these structures add many dimensions.
However, just when you thought we were done, uh-uh!
Suppose you want to live on a tropical island (cue Caribbean music – click the Audio MP3 button, above, if you haven’t already done so), but you cannot relocate just now, or perhaps you want beach-front property, but you don’t have the coin at the moment – are you going to let those little details put the kibosh on your dreams? Don’t think so.
Hmm, you could have a pond put in – somewhat small though, you could have a pool installed – does require a fair bit of maintenance to keep it looking good, you could have a lake installed – could be expensive, or how about a fountain?
Picture this, you got fired up after reading our post on Garden Fountains and you had one installed – ah, wonderful.
Now, along with your Tiki Bar, Grillzebo, and Pool House Cabana, you want to create some real atmosphere, something you that can really set the scene as you gently swing to and fro on your hammock chair…
Easy, put in some Palm Trees. That will be la pièce de résistance! These trees are iconic, no matter which type you choose from. There are loads of styles, lots of shapes, and sizes for every size yard.
This is a small sampling from the fun-loving folks at Real Palm Trees. Once you get there, you’ll find something for all décors.
Once you’ve added some great structures, water activities, and a few lovely Palm Trees, your backyard landscaping project will look just like a scene on a post card.
Take a look at the fabulous selection of all your favorite Palms, then create your own paradise oasis right in your backyard…

I love Palm Trees! For me they remind me more of the desert…because I have never been in the Caribbean. Great idea about putting some palm trees in a garden! If I ever have one, I’ll do that!
Me too! Palm trees remind me of the desert, my friends think of it as weird. I’m glad you think the same way about palm trees. I’m getting my garden done and I will get me some lovely palm trees.
Ahhh, nice! Nothing perks me up better than Caribbean music, specially with this gloomy weather we’re having. I’d want to bask in the beach sipping some pina coladas under a palm tree.
Palm trees! I get so excited when I see palm trees, reminds me of summertime vacations in the Caribbean. Thanks for the post!
This will match the tiki bar I had made in my backyard. Awesome post, Rae & Mark! I just love visiting this website, I always get great ideas.
This reminds me a lot of our family’s little beach house, I miss that paradise of a place. Thanks for the music too, what a perk-me-upper.
Palm trees = warmth to me. Since I live in rainy Washington State and we don’t have palm trees I love seeing them when I travel.
