It’s been a while since we showcased something for children, and the wooden playhouses we reviewed previously definitely look as though they’re aimed more at boys, so, not wanting to leave young girls out, we have a more feminine theme today.

So, we’ll start with the very lavish looking Victorian Mansion Playhouse, which is an amazing structure.

This gorgeous playhouse measures 8 x 16 ft, and is approximately 10 ft tall, at the peak.

There are 17 windows, all together, and they are all fully-working, and come complete with safety glass, grids and screens (see below).

The attention to detail is superb – there are even eight flower boxes, for the bottom windows.

On the inside, there is a loft, with a ladder on the turret side of the mansion, as you can see from these interior photos:

If the Victorian Mansion Playhouse is a little too fancy for you, then we do have a couple of other suggestions for you:

The Cape Cod Playhouse comes in a variety of sizes, from 4 x 6 ft up to 8 x 12 ft, with a height of 8 ft, and includes two working windows, non-functional dormers, flower boxes and shutters.

Inside, there is a loft, and as with the Victorian Mansion Playhouse, there are both child-sized and adult-sized doors.

The Pennfield Cottage Playhouse is very similar in terms of features (e.g. two doors, loft, shutters, non-functional dormers, working windows), but comes in different sizes, which range from 8 x 9 ft up to 11 x 12 ft, although it too is 8 ft tall, at the peak.

Now, of course, these playhouses do need to be assembled, but you get all the necessary instructions and plans, as well as the hardware you’ll need, such as screws, nails, handles and latches.

Whether you prefer the grandiose Victorian Mansion (which is the one we like best), or one of the two cottage styles, any of these playhouses would be a perfect gift for the young girl in your life, whether it’s your daughter or granddaughter.

And if you’re wondering what to do with a playhouse once your children grow too large to play in it any longer, don’t forget, you can always use it to store stuff in – we all need extra storage space, don’t we?

I now know what my daughters will want for Christmas. :) I don’t have a place to put it right now – our backyard is unfinished, but hopefully in the near future I can surprise my girls with this amazing house.

OMG, wow, these Victorian Mason playhouses look simply gorgeous. VERY girlie. I loved the wooden play house b/c they were so real while also plain allow for more IMAGINATION development. However, these are just such FUN! (I want the PINK one, of course!)
