Today, we’re taking another break from gazebos, pergolas, cabanas, pool houses, etc., and we’re looking at something that will be really great for your kids!

In fact, they look so good, that if you don’t have any kids yet, you might want to start a family just so you can see the joy they will experience, playing in their very own wooden playhouse.

The first one we’ll take a look at is called the Bear Log Playhouse Cabin, and it looks so good, we may just have to buy one for our doggies (who are our kids)!

This particular model is available in sizes ranging from 8 x 8 ft all the way up to 10 x 24 ft, and these measurements do not include the 3 ft porch area.

It comes with two standard windows, as well as two dormer windows, 30 year architectural shingles, and just so you can keep an eye on what your kids are up to, there is an adult size (3 x 6 ft) door on one of the side walls.

Buck Playhouse CabinNext, we have the Buck Playhouse Cabin, which comes with a 6 ft porch, which is additional to the measurements of the main cabin (12 x 12 ft up to a massive 14 x 40 ft), three standard windows, 30 year architectural shingles, a white pine finished porch ceiling.

The single door, which is 36 inches by 80 inches, is large enough for both you and your kids to use.

Wolf Playhouse CabinAnd the last one we’ll review is the Wolf Playhouse Cabin, which actually has its own loft built in, with a ladder so your kids can climb up.

It comes in sizes ranging from 8 x 10ft up to 10 x 20 ft, in addition to the 4 ft porch, has three windows (two on the porch and the one in the loft), two doors (one for the kids to use leading off the porch, and a larger one for you adults to use on the back wall), and 30 year architectural shingles.

Note regarding these playhouses: some assembly required!     :-)

So, if you’re looking for something a bit more versatile than the kids’ gazebo we showed you a few days ago, that will hold your kids’ attention all year round, then we highly recommend one of these stunning-looking cabin playhouses.

Even if you can’t think of some uses for them, we’re pretty sure your children will!

Check out our favourite (yes, unlike with yesterday’s sunroom designs, the two of us actually agree on this one), the Bear Log Playhouse Cabin, now.

I don’t know if it would be a good idea to have kids just to imagine them playing in this little houses…Anyway, I know that when I was a kid what I really wanted was on of them! I mean the houses!

  3. I’m sure I would have enjoyed one of these when I was a kid. There are days I’d enjoy it now.

  4. Then again, you can buy one and let the neighbor’s kids play in it. Of course, you might be labeled that creepy guy next door who buys things to lure kids.

    THese are pretty cool.

  5. These look like so much fun! My son would love one of these. How come we didn’t have cool stuff like this when we were kids?

  8. Hi Rae and Mark,

What a wonderful fun addition for any family to have a wooden playhouse of your own! I had one as a child growing up in Princeton and I loved it. I think they are marvelous for children’s imaginations, don’t you?

I love the line that if you don’t have any kids you may want to start a famly just to watch them play. That’s as good a reason as any!

Our kids absolutely adore it. It is very well constructed and is the cutest playhouse we have ever seen. The attention to detail makes this such a cozy play cottage. My lil ones just adore it. Great place for lil minds to dream and play!

  13. Katie says:

My kids would absolutely love this. Heck I love it and would probably spend more time in it they would. :) I will have to see if my husband wants to have another kid just to see if we can have one of these.

So cool – I wish I had one of these when I had a kid. No use for one now, though.

  15. Bhavin says:

A playhouse is good to give a sense of independence to children and they can create their own world there without restrictions.

I have also heard about plastic playhouses, but I think a wooden playhouse is better as it makes feel natural.

These are nice! Thanks for the idea, I now know what to get my kids for Christmas. This would be a grand gift, I bet they’ll love this!
